The growth and flourishing of Islamic cities is an integral part of the urbanization process. This, in turn, is a direct or indirect reflection of the pioneering role the city played as a model of civilizational change. Cities attract, create, and disseminate the elements of civilization, including its intellectual and cultural dimensions. These urban centers embraced all segments of society in its diversity, encompassing national and religious differences. They influenced both the living standards and cultural well-being of individuals by providing opportunities for a comfortable and prosperous life, resulting in high income levels. As al-Ya'qubi was a historian and geographer, a rare figure in that era, he vividly depicted the city's architecture, design, and magnificent Islamic urban planning. He also addressed the various social classes and their living conditions, noting that the city included individuals engaged in all kinds of crafts, professions, trades, industries, agriculture, bathhouses, and markets. These activities provided employment opportunities that increased family income, leading to widespread prosperity within the community. At that time.
